In its first weekend of conference play, the Illinois State mens tennis team fell to Drake Sunday at the Drake Tennis Center in Des Moines.
The Redbirds managed to dominate in all doubles matches. Ricky Heath and Yew Ming Si took on Drakes Stephen Killian and Tim Miller winning 8-6 at first doubles.
At No. 2, Jason Smit and Brent Steven faced brothers, Aaron and Bryan Endress-Fox and came out on top, 8-3 while Albert Piasecki and Thommas de Liefde battled against Anthony Perkins and Felipe Montenegro to a 9-8(3) victory.
The team continues its conference season this weekend when it faces Evansville and Southern Illinois at home on Friday and Saturday and Bradley on Sunday in Peoria.
