Illinois State head coach Ray Kralis has completed his inagural recruiting class. Sarah Loomis of La Crosse, Wis. and Kaila Fuller of St. Peters, Mo. have signed national letters of intent to be student-athletes at Illinois State. Loomis hails from La Crosses Logan High School. While at Logan, Loomis was the conference player of the year and captured an eigth-place finish. Loomis was joined in the top 10 by fellow ISU recruit, Ashlee Johnson, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. who signed during the fall with the Redbirds. Loomis also finished 3rd at the Wisconsin PGA Jr. Championship and 11th at the Wisconsin State Open, which is a mix of pros and amateurs alike. Loomis low tournament round while in high school was a 75. Sarah Loomis has incredible length, Kralis said. If she polishes her game, her potential is unlimited. Fuller will arrive at ISU via St. Peters Francis Howell Central High School. Fullers golf resume includes a top ten finish at the 2000 Missouri State High School Golf Championship, five top five finishes in Missouri Jr. PGA events, including three titles, a top 15 at the 2000 Little Peoples Jr. Championship, fourth place at the Decatur Jr. Open, and titles at the Robbie McEvers Jr. Championship, and 2000 Junior Masters. At the 2000 District Tournament, Fuller shot a 73 and tied for the title. Fuller also stars in the classroom as a member of the National Honor Society, sporting a 3.9 GPA. Kaila represents everything she has been a part of very well, she will be a tremendous asset to the athletic department and the university. Kralis said. Loomis and Fuller both fit the trend that Kralis has set with his first recruiting class, garnering not just quality athletes, but quality student-athletes. I want people in this program who are both serious about academics and getting the best out of themselves on the golf course, Kralis said. Both add a tremendous amount of depth to an already strong recruiting class and can come in and compete for us right away.
