The Illinois State mens tennis team will soon be welcoming junior transfers Marek Blaskovic and Ciaran Foley to the team.
Both Blaskovic and Foley transfer to Illinois State from the University of Louisville, where their team finished 21-9-1 in 2000-01.
Blaskovic is a native of Bratislava, Slovakia. In high school, he was a starter for nationally renowned Bradenton Academy in Florida. As a freshman at Louisville, he was a perfect 9-0 in dual singles matches and posted a 13-4 overall doubles record. He finished the 2000-01 season with an overall record of 13-6.
Foley, native of Dublin, Ireland, was a member of Irelands junior national team and was ranked #1 nationally in junior doubles in high school. As a freshman at Louisville, he was a perfect 3-0 in dual singles matches and posted an equally impressive 8-0 overall doubles record. He finished the 2000-01 season with an overall record of 18-9.
Illinois State head coach Greg Kennett is excited about the newest additions to the team.
These two players are very mature, and will add depth to our lineup, said Kennett.
