Fans can get the low-down on the upcoming Illinois State volleyball season from head coach
Sharon Dingman at the Redbirds "First Serve Luncheon" at noon, Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the Eastland Suites Hotel.
Dingman's team, which began practice this week, returns 12 veterans after a 19-10 record in 2000, including local high school products
Abby Lewis,
Jenny Kabbes,
Erin Jones plus freshmen
Wendi Roesch and
Paige White. Illinois State begins the 2001 season Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 by playing host to the Barker GMC Classic at Redbird Arena. The tournament features Louisville and Wisconsin-Milwaukee, two teams coming off NCAA Tournament bids, plus Missouri-Kansas City.
Tickets for the "First Serve Luncheon" are $10 each and can be procured by calling The Redbird Club office at (309) 438-3803. Deadline for reservations is Monday, Aug. 22.
