Illinois State Cross Country Teams Revise Season Schedule

Due to the national events of last week, the Illinois State mens and womens cross country teams have revised their season schedule. The Redbirds will still host the Illinois State Invitational (originally scheduled for Saturday, September 15) on Friday, October 12, on the ISU trail at the University Farm. After last week, the least of our concerns was rearranging our schedule, said head cross country coach Jeff Pigg. We wanted to make sure that we ran a meet on our course prior to the MVC Championships. Other changes to the original schedule include the addition of two meets, the University of Illinois on September 22 and University of Notre Dame on October 5. These meets replace previously scheduled meets at the University of Minnesota (September 29) and the University of Michigan (October 14). We will have some excellent competition at both the Illinois and Notre Dame meets, mentioned Pigg. Our new schedule is just as good if not better than before. These meets will give us a great opportunity to prepare for the Valley Championship at the end of October. Revised 2001 Cross Country Schedule Sept. 7 at Bradley Open (Peoria, Ill.)
