Senior co-captain Jill Rachford and freshman Katie Laehn powered the Redbird attack with scores of 76 each, boosting the Illinois State womens golf team up one spot to 13th at the Lady Northern.
Rachford finished the day in 50th place with her efforts today, moving up 13 spots from day one. Laehn shot her best round of year today leaving her tied with four others at 58th.
Freshman Ashlee Johnson slipped down two spots to 58th with a score of 80. Teammates Sara Prack and Kaila Fuller both finished the day with scores of 80, as well. Sophomore Albiona Zhubi finished the day with an 82.
Michigan still stands atop the field of 14 followed by Kent State, Northwestern, Illinois and Indiana to round out the top five.
Final round action starts tomorrow with a shotgun start of 9:00 a.m.
