The Illinois State womens tennis team is on the road again this weekend to take on No. 13 Notre Dame.
This is the first regularly scheduled dual meet for Notre Dame, while Illinois State goes into the meet with an 0-1 record. Head coach Chris Hoover is well aware of the challenge that his team will face this weekend.
Notre Dame is ranked No. 13 in the nation, said Hoover. Theyre a tough team, and well have to play hard.
Though this will undoubtedly be a challenging weekend for the Redbirds, some confidence can be gained from the fact that ISUs No. 1 doubles team of Liina Suurvarik and Alesia Mikalayeva has already taken on and defeated Notre Dames No. 1 doubles team of Becky Varnum and Lindsey Green during the semi-final round of the Midwest Regional Championships.
The match is set to take place this Saturday, January 26, at 10 a.m. at the Eck Pavilion.
