Diana Puckett, a junior on the Illinois State womens soccer team, has been named the Prairie Farms/Missouri Valley Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the period of October 14-20.
Puckett, a native of Park Ridge, Ill., was honored for her efforts in the Illinois State 1-0 victory over Indiana State on Oct. 20. She scored the game-winning goal at the 15:39 mark off a combined assist from Lindsey Soderborg and Katie Long. The goal was her fourth of the season and 14th of her career. Puckett, an exercise science major, carries a cumulative grade-point average of 3.10.
To qualify for Prairie Farms/Missori Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00, completed at least one academic year at a Valley Institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. In addition to the academic qualifications, student-athletes will be evaluated on their athletic performance for a one-week period.
