Illinois State head coach
Steve Paska is looking forward for the opportunity to face a Missouri Valley Conference opponent.
Im anxious to see how we stack up against them, said Paska. This meet is an early season test, and my girls are ready to go compete.
The season is young for the Redbirds as they are fresh off their return home from their first road trip at Notre Dame, which they placed second out of six teams.
Paska feels his team should perform well this weekend, even with his team not being at 100 percent.
Were not a healthy group right now, but the team has been a real joy to work with over the past couple weeks, said Paska. Theyre all working with great intensity and focus, and they are looking forward to competing at home.
The Birds will be on the road for their next two meets as they face Ball State Friday, October 18 and University of Illinois Friday, October 25.
