Cross country teams from the 32 schools that make up the Midwest region are ready to run in the 2002 Midwest Cross Country Regional Saturday at the University Golf Course at Illinois State.
The event begins with the womens 6K race at 10:30 a.m., while the mens race will follow at 11:30 a.m. Both the Illinois State men and womens teams will participate in the Regional meet.
Public parking will be available for the Regional at the Motorcycle Safety Instruction Building and on Gregory Street past the University Golf Course. Cost for parking is $5 per vehicle.
This is a huge event for Illinois State to be hosting on such a busy weekend, said Director of Athletics Perk Weisenburger. It would not have been possible without the help of Illinois State University Department of Recreation Services and University Golf Course, Vern Hanks, Motorcycle Safety Instruction, ISU Parking Services and Paxtons.
Results for both races will be posted on-line at www.redbirds.org following the meet.
