The Price is Right for Harris

Junior pitcher Corey Harris is used to having her name called over the speakers at the Illinois State softball games, but on January 2, Rod Roddy beckoned Harris to Come on Down as the next contestent on the Price is Right. Over Christmas break, Harris and nine of her friends, including six other Illinois State softball players, took a trip to Los Angeles to visit Bob Barker on his morning game show. After waiting eight hours outside the CBS studios, they finally got seats in the audience. Harris thought that one of them would be a contestant because the number of people in their group. It was so much fun, said Harris, excited about her debut on the show. I was really nervous when my name was called. My friends were jumping up and down for me. Bob [Barker] was really nice too. On commercial breaks he would talk to the audience and to the contestants, answering questions and stuff. It was a neat experience, said Harris. The show will air on Tuesday, February 12, at 10 a.m. on CBS.
