Illinois State senior Chad Mazanowski was announced as an honorable mention selection to the 2002 Missouri Valley Conference Mens Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team, Thursday.
Mazanowski, a native of DeKalb, Ill., has appeared in 16 games this season for the Redbirds. He is shooting 66.7 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from the free throw line.
The former walk-on is a criminal justice major and owns a 3.18 grade point average. He is logging 3.8 minutes per game and has 11 rebounds on the season, including eight on the offensive end. He is averaging 1.3 points per game.
Mazanowski and the Redbirds return to action on Saturday, when Illinois State hosts Southern Illinois at 2:05 p.m.
