Freshmen divers Terra Whisman and Krystal Featherston will represent Illinois State at the NCAA Regional Diving Zone Meet hosted by Purdue Friday and Saturday at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center.
Whisman, a native of Indianapolis, Ind., qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Meet with a total of 263.85 points off of six dives on the one-meter board against Bradley.
At the Missouri Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, Featherston, who hails from Kokomo, Ind., tallied 429.55 points on the three-meter board to qualify for the NCAA Zone Meet.
They are excited and have a few butterflies since this is their first time going to the meet, diving coach Laura Segerlin said. I expect them to have fun and do their best. As long as they do their best theyve done a great job representing Illinois State and the Missouri Valley Conference.
One-meter competition takes place Friday beginning at 8 a.m. CST, while three-meter diving will be held on Saturday, also at 8 a.m. CST.
