Redbird Divers Set for NCAA Zones

Freshmen divers Terra Whisman and Krystal Featherston will represent Illinois State at the NCAA Regional Diving Zone Meet hosted by Purdue Friday and Saturday at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center. Whisman, a native of Indianapolis, Ind., qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Meet with a total of 263.85 points off of six dives on the one-meter board against Bradley. At the Missouri Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, Featherston, who hails from Kokomo, Ind., tallied 429.55 points on the three-meter board to qualify for the NCAA Zone Meet. They are excited and have a few butterflies since this is their first time going to the meet, diving coach Laura Segerlin said. I expect them to have fun and do their best. As long as they do their best theyve done a great job representing Illinois State and the Missouri Valley Conference. One-meter competition takes place Friday beginning at 8 a.m. CST, while three-meter diving will be held on Saturday, also at 8 a.m. CST.
