The Illinois State mens golf team currently sits in 10th place after their first two rounds of tournament play at the Stevinson Ranch Invitational in Stevinson, Cal.
Brian Anderson leads the Redbird flock with round scores of 71 and 74, placing him in a tie for 17th. Nic Baker and Kyle Vasel follow Anderson in the ISU standings in a tie for 35th. Vasel shot a season-low for the team, as well as a personal best 67 in round two, to rocket his placement to 35th from a tie at 69th after shooting an 80 in round one. Baker turned in a 72 in round one and a 75 in round two.
Adam Goldie finished the day in a tie for 56th after shooting a 73 in round one, and a 79 in round two. B.J Brown rounds out the ISU crew with a finish on the day at 82. Brown turned in scores of 82 and 81, respectively.
Mark McBride of the University of Missouri is currently tied with Casey Harbour of the University of Kansas for first-place individual honors after each shot a 137 on the day.
In overall tournament standings the University of Missouri leads the team standings with a score of 565 on the day. The University of Kansas is currently in second with 570 strokes, followed by California State-Stanislaus in third with 575, Kansas State University in fourth with 576, and Arkansas State University in fifth with 578.
Golf action resumes at Stevinson Ranch tomorrow when the teams play their final 18 holes to wrap up the tournament and decide the winner.
