Conference Play Begins for Women's Tennis

The Illinois State womens tennis team will begin conference play this Friday, taking on not one, but two conference opponents. ISU will take on both Bradley and Indiana State. These meets mark the beginning of conference competition for all three teams. Illinois State opened last years conference play by taking on the same two teams, and had great success, winning both meets and going on to remain undefeated in the Missouri Valley Conference throughout the regular season. This is an exciting time in the season, said Coach Chris Hoover. We hope to keep our focus and do as well in the Valley as last year. Indiana State will be the host for all the action. Illinois State will begin by taking on Bradley University at 9 a.m. at the Wabash Valley Tennis Club. Bradley is currently 1-3 for the season, while Illinois States record sits at 4-5. Illinois State will then move to take on host Indiana State, currently 11-6 for the year after winning the last straight six matches, and will attempt to end the teams winning streak. The competition is set to begin at 4 p.m., also at the Wabash Valley Tennis Club.
