Redbirds Hold Strong in Lady Moc Classic

Illinois State womens golf finished the first tournament of the spring season in 11th place. The tournament was hosted by Florida Southern at the ImperiaLakes Country Club. Redbirds shot a team score of 1002, far surpassing MVC competitor, Northern Iowa (15th) with a score of 1013. Bradley placed eigth (967). North Carolina won the tournament (927), followed by Miami in second (928), and University of Wisconsin in third (938). Ashlee Johnson tightened up her game by shedding two strokes (82) and tied for 35th. Jill Rachford tied for 46th. Katie Laehn jumped six spots to finish tied for 49th place with an 82 in the final round. Albiona Zhubi (66th) improved on her second round by five strokes with a score of 85. Sara Prack moved up one spot to finish tied for 73rd. This tournament was a positive experience that allowed us to play outdoors and refine the things we had been working on all winter, said Kralis. It was an excellent building block to set us up for next week. The Redbirds return to Winter Park, Fla. to play in the Peggy Kirk Bell Invite on Mar. 10-12.
