Warmer Weather for Women's Tennis

The Illinois State womens tennis team heads to Florida to compete in warmer weather against Rollins College and Stetson University. The Birds hope to improve both their health and their season record during the trip. I hope the trip will be good for everyones health as well as fun, said head coach Chris Hoover. We need to go down there and win some matches. The first meet for the Redbirds will be against Rollins College, in Winter Park, Fla. The team is ranked No. 7 nationally in Division II by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and is currently 8-4 for the season. Illinois State is currently 2-5 on the season. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Martin Tennis Complex. The Birds will then face off with Stetson University, a Division I school, in DeLand, Fla. Stetson has a 2-4 season record, one of their losses coming against Rollins College. The meet is set to take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 10. These spring break matches will be the last for the Redbirds before beginning conference play against Bradley University on March 29.
