After dropping its last four matches to fall to 4-6 in dual match play, the Illinois State mens tennis team is looking to return to its winning ways this weekend against Iowa.
Ricky Heath and Marek Blaskovic will lead the way for the Redbirds. Sharing time at No. 1 and No. 2 singles with teammate Jason Smit, Heath has recorded a 7-5 record so far this spring. Blaskovic, who has emerged as a stronghold in the lower half of the Redbirds lineup, has recorded a 7-6 spring record at No. 5 singles.
Without question, the Redbirds will have to perform at their best this weekend.
Iowa boasts a record of 5-2 in dual match play, and is currently riding a three match winning streak. The Hawkeyes are led by Stuart Waters who has amassed a spring record of 5-1 record at No. 1 singles.
The Redbirds will battle the Hawkeyes on Saturday, March 2, at 6 p.m. in Iowa City, Iowa.
