The Illinois State mens golf team, coming off of an impressive 3rd place finish at last weeks Branson Creek Invitational, heads to Jonesboro, Ark., April 15-16 for the Indian Classic, hosted by Arkansas State University. The Redbirds, led by senior Nic Baker, hope to improve their seventh place finish from last years Indian Classic by building on the momentum created through their solid play at Branson.
Baker returns to the Indian Classic after placing the highest for the Birds at the competition last year in a tie for tenth, with a three-round total of 224. Adam Goldie was last years next highest Redbird finisher, tying for 26th after shooting 240.
The other teams competing in the tournament include Arkansas State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, Missouri, Northern Iowa, North Texas, Oral Roberts, South Alabama, South Florida, Southern Mississippi, and Southwest Missouri State.
Golf action begins at RidgePointe Country Club on Monday, with the first two rounds of play, and concludes on Tuesday with round three.
