Illinois State is set to host the Missouri Valley Conference Womens Tennis Tournament this weekend on the McCormick Courts.
Illinois State, the Valleys defending champions, enter the tournament with a 6-3 record in theValley, are are predicted in the Valleys pre-championship poll to take fourth place. Each of the Redbirds conference losses (to Indiana State, Drake, and Southwest Missouri State, respectively) were by a single point.
The predicted winner of the tournament is Southwest Missouri State, who enters the tournament undefeated in the Valley.
The tournament is set to begin on Friday, April 26th at 9 a.m. and play will continue through Sunday, April 28th. The Redbirds will first take to the courts at noon on Friday to play Northern Iowa in the first round of the tournament. Illinois State defeated Northern Iowa 4-3 earlier this season.
