The Illinois State womens tennis team has added the names of Emilie Sechaud and Normal West product Ashley Maxwell to the 2002-03 lineup.
The news of two new teammates could not come at a better time for the Redbirds, who had to forfeit two positions in each of their last three regular season matches due to player injuries.
Emilie Sechaud, who originally hails from Geneva, Switzerland, joins Illinois States freshman class after graduating from Saddlebrook Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida. Sechaud was Floridas 2001 Doubles Champion, and a semi-finalist in Floridas 2002 Singles Championship.
Sechaud will join the team along with freshman Ashley Maxwell, a graduate of Normal Community West High School. Coach Hoover is confident that the recruits will be a strong addition to the team.
Both are smart, solid young women that we are happy to have join our program, said Hoover. They will give added strength and depth to an already solid lineup.
