The starting times for the entire 2002-03 Illinois State home mens basketball schedule and all but two road games were released Monday by the Redbird Athletics Department.
As far as home, mid-week games go, 7:05 p.m., remained the start time of choice at Redbird Arena. However on weekend games, which the Birds have nine home dates, ISU will host an opponent at 2:05 p.m., twice in December and once in both January and February.
Personally, I like playing day games, head coach Tom Richardson said. The players like them as well. They dont have to wait around as much. During the week its not a problem because they have school to occupy their time, but on Saturday there is a lot of anticipation. Also, it gives us an opportunity to go recruiting after the games too.
In December, the Redbirds will face both Northern Illinois and Southwest Missouri State at 2:05 p.m., on Dec. 21 and Dec. 29, respectively. Later, the Birds will host both Wichita State (Jan. 18) and Indiana State (Feb. 8) with 2:05 p.m. tip-offs.
The only other variances occur on Feb. 1 against Bradley with a 4:05 p.m. start and Southern Illinois on March 3, at 6:05 p.m.
All times are subject to change.
