Including the 2-hour bus ride up to Chicagos OHare airport, the Illinois State mens basketball team left Bloomington-Normal at 3 p.m. CDT, on Sunday and arrived safely in Sydney at 7:03 a.m. AST, on Tuesday to complete a 25-hour excursion to Australia.
The Redbirds had a short shoot around in the morning and then went to Bondi Beach and watched the surfers, despite the 50 degree weather. It was a light day as the team tried to adjust to the 15-hour time change.
The Birds will play the first of six games on Wednesday at 7 p.m. AST (Wednesday at 4 a.m. CDT), against the Under-20 National Team.
