Sophomore Robyn Brady sent a pass to junior Diana Puckett, allowing her to score her first goal of teh season at the 40:47 mark. With only about a minute and half left in the first half, sophomore Michelle Brumbaugh also scored her first goal of the season. Debbie Carmel and Kristi Swaving of Oakland each scored in the second half, but the Redbirds were able to fight off the Phoenix offense. This was a big road win for us, said head coach Pete Kowall. They are a good team, and they played better than us in the second half. We were favoring a couple of injuries, but we did just enough to hold on to the win. The Redbirds will have just one day to recooperate as they return home for the first of a seven game home stretch on Sunday, September 15. The Redbirds will host Wisconsin-Green Bay at Adelaide Street Field at noon.
