Junior college transfer Brian Ahsoon will miss the Southwest Missouri State and Western Illinois games after breaking the fourth metacarpal in his right hand in the 45-10 loss at Eastern Illinois.
The Mesa, Ariz., native has played in three games with 11 tackles, including seven solos. He also has a sack, a tackle for loss and three quarterback hurries. The Redbirds are hopeful to have Ahsoon back on the field by October 19, against Southern Illinois.
Information regarding wide receiver Jon Laurenti and linebacker William Rolle was also updated. Laurenti, who left the Eastern Illinois game with a reoccurring shoulder separation, is probable for Saturdays game against SMS. Rolle, on the hand, is questionable with a right knee injury.
The Redbirds return to action on Saturday, when Illinois State faces SMS at Hancock Stadium for Homecoming 2002. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m.
