Illinois State diver Krystal Featherston has advanced to the NCAA Zone C diving meet on the 1-meter board after placing first against Illinois-Chicago Friday, January 17, at Horton Pool.
Featherston, a sophomore who also won the 3-meter board competition with a score of 264.225, was named Diver of the Week by the Missouri Valley Conference for her efforts.
The Kokomo, Ind., native produced a point total of 259.875 on the 1-meter board, with a score of 255.00 needed to advance to the diving championships.
Last season Featherston advanced to the zone meet on both boards and placed 42nd on the 1-meter and 29th on the 3-meter board.
The NCAA Zone meet will take place in March.
