Illinois States divers compiled 114 of the teams 261 points after the conclusion of day one of the two-day Bill Ritter Invite in Milwaukee, Wis. Host Wisconsin-Milwaukee is leading the meet with 341 points, followed by Illinois State with 261 and Wisconsin-Green Bay closely trailing with 253 points.
Valley Diver of the Week Krystal Featherston led the way for the Redbirds with a first-place finish on the 1-meter board with a score of 229.50, followed by teammates Emily LaVoie and Kate Johnson in seventh and eighth, respectively.
Featherston was also the top Redbird diver on the 3-meter board with a fifth place finish in the 11-dive event, posting a score of 355.35.
On the swimming side, freshman Monique Witkowski touched the wall in fourth-place in the 50 free with a time of 25.72. Witkowski was also a member of the fifth-place 400 medley relay.
Katie Finan and Heather Norris posted noteable times in the 500 free coming in sixth and ninth-place, respectively.

Steve Paska was thrilled with the amount of points the divers posted in todays meet, and is ready to see what his team can do in day two of competition.
Im happy with this right now and well see if we can hold on, said Paska. I think our best swimming events will be tomorrow.
Today concluded the diving competition, but the swimmers will continue with two more sessions tomorrow, with the morning session slated for 10 a.m. and the afternoon session at 3:30 p.m.
