Richdale Finishes Fall Season With Third Valley Honor

Sophomore Samantha Richdale concluded the fall season by being named the Missouri Valley Conference Womens Golfer of the Week for her performance in the Marilynn Smith / Sunflower Invitational in Manhattan, Kan. This is her third Valley honor of the fall season. Richdale finished with a three round total of 223 (72,74,77) on the par 72, 6,151-yard Colbert Hills Country Club. She claimed medalist honors at the invite by edging out Linda Svensson of Arkansas-Little Rock by two strokes. This is her seventh career Valley Golfer of the Week honor. Her scores helped contribute to the Redbirds seventh place finish. The Birds fought through adverse weather conditions and essentially played three golf courses in all three rounds. Richdale also led the Birds to an undefeated record in the Valley this fall. Head coach Ray Kralis feels Richdale had an outstanding fall. Sam excelled all season long and has raised the bar for herself and for this golf program, Kralis said. She is one of the top golfers in the region. The Birds are on hiatus until February when they begin their spring season at the Lady Moc Invitational in Lakeland, Fla.
