Alumni Game Wraps Up Fall Schedule

The Illinois State baseball program is set to welcome back over 50 former players this weekend, as the annual Alumni Game takes place Saturday morning at Redbird Field. When you have 50-plus alumni coming back for this game, its safe to say that the tradition of Redbird baseball is being restored, said head coach Jim Brownlee. It makes it even better because of the fact that the guys that are coming back are from all different eras of the program. Batting practice will begin Saturday morning at 9 a.m., followed by infield practice. Starting lineups will be announced at 10 a.m., followed by the first pitch. The alumni team will be coached by current Redbird assistant coach Tim Brownlee in the seven-inning game against the current Illinois State baseball team, which will be coached by Redbird pitching coach Seth Kenny. Its so great to see the excitement back not only in our players, but also in all of these guys coming back, said Brownlee. They are excited about this weekend, they are excited about this upcoming season, and they all seem very excited about the direction this program is heading.
