Mikalayeva and Suurvarik Continue to Make History

Illinois State womens tennis players, Liina Suurvarik and Alesia Mikalayeva, will be looking to continue to make their mark on Redbird history when they play in dual meet action against Marquette and Wisconsin this weekend. Currently, Mikalayeva is first in career doubles victories for Redbird womens tennis with 80 wins and 10th in singles with 76. Junior, Suurvarik is currently 5th in Redbird career doubles victories with 67 wins and 8th in singles victories with 79. After an exciting 4-3 victory over DePaul on January 30, head coach Chris Hoover is a little concerned about the down time. We had a lot of momentum coming off the DePaul win, Hoover said. I am a little worried that we might come out flat against Marquette. Redbirds will be traveling to Milwaukee to take on Marquette at 10:30 a.m., and will come home to take on Wisconsin in Bloomington at the Evergreen Racquet Club at 12:30 p.m. -- ## --
