Head coach Pete Kowall and the Illinois State womens soccer team head to the campus of the Fighting Illini for the Illinois Indoor Soccer Tournament, Saturday, February 15.
The tournament will run throughout the day at the Irwin Indoor Football Practice Field, with two brackets, the Blue and the Orange. The Redbirds, in the Orange Bracket, are scheduled to play games at 8 a.m., 10:40 a.m., 12:40 p.m., 3:20 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. Each game consists of two 15-minute halves. The semi-final game is scheduled for 6 p.m., with the championship game slated for 6:40 p.m.
Kowall is anxious to see competition from other programs.
This is our first opportunity since Novemeber to play against someone other than ourselves, said Kowall. We will see some good competition and some new teams. Last year we did well by winning the tournament, and we hope to have the same success again.
The Redbirds will face the following schools/clubs in the Orange Bracket: Iowa State, Little Illini SC, FC Milwaukee, Depaul and U of I Orange. Other competing schools/clubs include U of I Blue, Carmel Commotion, Dayton, Estern Illinois, Louisville and Busch SC.
