After dropping matches to Marquette and Wisconsin over the weekend, the Illinois State womens tennis team will be looking to get back on the winning track traveling to St. Louis to take on the Billikens Friday, Feb. 21.
The last three times these two teams have meet the Redbirds have defeated the Billikens each time; 6-1 in 2002, 5-2 in 2001, and 5-3 in 1999. Currently, the Redbirds are 1-4 for the spring season, and will be looking to get on the winning track.
Head coach Chris Hoover is hoping to rack up more wins starting this weekend against the Billikens.
We havent played real well since our DePaul victory, Hoover said. We have played well against this team the last couple years so I hope that helps our team do better this weekend.
Currently the Billikens are 2-2 for the spring season and are coming off a 7-0 loss to Arkansas over the weekend.
The Redbirds begin play Friday at 2 p.m. at the indoor courts at Wilsons Fitness and Racquet Club in St. Louis.
