The Missouri Valley Conference will be celebrating its past when the 2003 Hall of Fame Ceremony takes place the morning of Saturday, March 8, at the Sheraton St. Louis City Center in St. Louis. The event is part of the 2003 Missouri Valley Conference Mens Basketball Tournament that will be going on simaltaneously, March 7-11, at the Savvis Center downtown.
From 8:30-11 a.m. at the Sheraton City Center, five former athletes and coaches will be honored at the event. From Illinois State, Will Robinson, the first African-American Division I basketball coach, will be awarded with the lifetime achievement award while Cathy Boswell, a former Redbird basketball player, will be one of two institutional greats honored at the event.
Also being inducted in the Valley Hall of Fame is John Bright (football) from Drake, Lew Hartzog (coach) of Southern Illinois and Bruce Baumgartner (wrestling) of Indiana State.
