Samantha Richdale has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Womens Golfer of the Week for her performance at the 28th annual Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational in Winter Park, Fla. This is the third time Richdale has recieved this honor in her freshman campaign as a Redbird.
Richdale fired rounds of 78-73 for a 151 total on the par 72, 6012-yard layout at the Tuscawilla Country Club golf course. She claimed the third top-ten finish of her collegiate career by placing ninth at the invite, which finished Tuesday, March 11.
Her score not only led the charge for the Redbirds, who finished fifth as a team, but it was also the lowest score among the competing Valley schools. Richdales finish helped Illinois State edge out Valley foe Southern Illinois, which ended up finishing sixth, behind ISU.
Richdale and the Redbirds will return to competive action on March 24-25, as they travel to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma for the Oral Roberts University Invitational.
