Missouri Game Added to Webcast Schedule

R.C. McBride and WJBC have decided to add Illinois States 4 p.m. baseball game Wednesday against Missouri to its webcast schedule. Aaron Johnston will provide play-by-play of the game with pre-game commentary set to begin at 3:45 p.m. from Colombia, Mo. The Birds are coming off their week-long trip to Fresno, Calif., where they defeated Penn, 8-4, on Sunday, March 9, and then went on to finish sixth in Fresno States annual Pepsi/Johnny Quik Classic with a 1-4 record. Jake Blair and Jay Molina were named to the classics all-tournament team at third base and outfield respectively. Illinois State head coach Jim Brownlee feels that this mid-week game is vital in preparing the team for its conference schedule, which begins on Friday, March 21 against Creighton at Redbird Field. This is an important week for us since we are opening our Valley schedule on Friday, said Brownlee. A game against Missouri is a good test for us, because it is our first mid-week game of the season and also because they are a very good team from the Big 12. The Redbirds will host Missouri next week on Wednesday, March 26, set to begin at 3 p.m. before heading to Wichita State for a four-game series to continue their Valley schedule. Webcast can be accessed through either www.redbirds.org or www.wjbc.com.
