The verdict is in and the webcasts provided by WJBC for the Illinois State baseball and softball games have proven to be a successful venture for R.C. McBride and his sports crew at the radio station coming off four broadcasts last weekend of Redbird baseball at Murray State.
We were excited with the amount of interest and responses we received for these webcasts, said McBride, the WJBC program director. There was enough of a demand that people were actually being booted off, because the station could not accomodate that many listeners via the Internet.
Aaron Johnston provides the play-by-play for all Illinois State baseball and softball webcasts and listeners can connect as early as 30 minutes before the scheduled game time. Individuals interested in listening to Redbird baseball or softball webcasts should connect at www.redbirds.org or www.wjbc.com as early as possible to help increase the likelihood of getting a connection.
The next webcast will air on Monday, March 10, at noon with pre-game coverage beginning at 11:45 a.m. when the Redbird baseball team faces Penn State in the opening game of the Pepsi/Johnny Quik Classic in Fresno, Calif. All Illinois State games of the Classic will be available via webcast.
