The Illinois State mens golf team hopes to gain some momentum in its last tournament before the Valley Championship, when it heads to Huntley, Ill., for the Illinois State Intercollegiate. The tourney will serve as the final outing for the Birds before they defend their Valley crown.
The tournament will be hosted by Northern Illinois University, and will be held at the Whisper Creek Golf Course. The one-round competition will begin and end on Monday.
Last years Illinois State Intercollegiate saw Valley foe Southern Illinois take home both first-place team honors, as well as individual medalist honors when Brian Kolmer won the tourney. The Redbirds finished in fifth-place.
