Poor weather struck again for the Illinois State baseball team as April showers and frigid temperatures forced the coaches from Illinois State and Iowa to reach an agreement to reduce the originally scheduled two-game series to one game now scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, at 6 p.m. at Redbird Field in Normal, Ill.
The original schedule had Illinois State hosting Iowa on Tuesday, April 8, at 6 p.m. and then heading to Iowa City, Iowa, on Wednesday, April 9, for another 6 p.m. match-up. The game at Iowa will be rescheduled for a later date, if possible.
Wednesdays home game with Iowa will be available on WJBCs webcast starting at 5:30 p.m. with Aaron Johnston providing the play-by-play. Fans can log on to the webcast from either www.redbirds.org or at www.wjbc.com.
The Redbirds are currently 9-15 overall with a 3-8 record in the Missouri Valley Conference. This will be the second game they have had cancelled in the last three days and the sixth meeting cancelled on the season.
