Whether its retro apparrel and souvenir equipment--or just an interest in shopping for a bargain on their favorite teams stuff--Redbird fans can get their fill at the Illinois State Athletics Garage Sale from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26 at Horton Field House.
Shoppers will find more than 250 items discount priced from 25 cents to $25. Outfitting, literally, goes from head to toe with hats, jerseys, shorts and shoes available at, well, garage sale prices.
Redbird athletics equipment coordinator Julie Hinthorn believes the Garage Sale is an event everyone can appreciate and enjoy.
This is something that works for everybody, said Hinthorn. Instead of being in storage or discarded, it becomes a fans treasure.
The Garage Sale is part of a full day of Redbird activities April 26. After the Garage Sale comes the Redbird Tailgate starting at 1 p.m., in the Ropp parking lot north of Hancock Stadium. The purchase of a $5 Redbird Raffle ticket is good for entry to the tailgate which includes hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, baked beans and beverages.
The Red/White Spring Football Game follows the tailgate at 2:30 p.m. Drawing for the Redbird Raffles grand prizes will take place at halftime of the football game.
