Just one year ago Thursday, Illinois State Athletics launched its newly designed and easily accessible website, www.redbirds.org, and the hard work of making the website a fan-pleasing service has not gone unnoticed.
We put a lot of effort into this project in order to ensure that our fans have an easy-to-navigate yet informative site, Director of Media Relations Todd Kober said. The internet is such a vital source of information for collegiate programs. It is important to have an up-to-date, informative site not only for fans and supporters, but also for members of the media and potential recruits.
Kober and his staff were in charge of recreating the user-friendly site that has logged over 3,850,000 viewers in the past year.
Illinois State Director of Athletics Perk Weisenburger mirrors Kober's thoughts and realizes the positive image the new site has displayed for Redbird Athletics.
"The new -look Redbird Athletics website has been a big plus for our department," Weisenburger said.l "It allows us the ability to reach so many of our constituent groups with important news and information...... in particular, the many Redbird fans across the nation and around the world that want to stay in touch with Illinois State. We are always looking for ways to improve our communications and our current website has been very well received."
In the overall redesign of the website, new additions were made that have been proven beneficial. Included in that is the staff directory, special events calendar and ticker that runs across the top of the main page. More recently, as the website is an ongoing project that continuously gets updated, Redbird wallpaper and a todays events link were added to keep fans up-to-date on events and to show school spirit on their home computers.
