Illinois State senior pitcher Audra Rast has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Louisville Slugger Great Lakes All-Region Second Team for the second straight year.
Rast, a native of Tucson, Ariz., is a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year. In 39 games, she had a record of 20-14 with an ERA of 1.32. Rast led the league in strikeouts with 299 and she recorded 13 shutouts. Her career record is 59-34. Rast is one of three Missouri Valley Conference softball players named to the first or second team All-Region this year.
Rasts pitching accomplishments are sprinkled all over the Illinois State softball record books. She ranks second in career innings pitched with 657.3 and third in career wins with 59.
Her honors this year include being named to the Valley All-Tournament Team, the All-Valley First Team and the Preseason All-Valley Team. Rast was also named Pitcher of the Week for March 31 and April 14.
