Richdale, Rose Named NGCA All-American Scholars

ISU womens golfers Samantha Richdale and Ashlie Rose have been named to the 2002-2003 National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Teams. 297 of the top womens golfers in the nation were recognized with this prestigious honor. Richdale, a chemistry major and recent recipient of the Helen Cushman Endowment, completed her freshman year with a GPA of 3.57 to lead the team. She also took home medalist honors in both the ISU Redbird Classic last fall and most recently in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. Her scoring average was 77.50 and had 18 rounds in the 70s. Ashlie Rose, a business administration major, finished the 2002-2003 school year with a 3.55 GPA, second only to Richdale. She carried a 79.79 scoring average last season and had a low round of 73 and also had eight rounds at 77 or better. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 (3.40 for Seniors) and students must have competed in at least 66% of the colleges regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
