Fans can experience the thrill of serving an ace, recording a kill and much more during the annual Redbird Volleyball Meet the Birds at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 23rd at Redbird Arena. Then check out the Red/White Scrimmage starting at 3:30 p.m.
This is a free event where younger Redbird fans will get the opportunity to participate in interactive games with the players and coaches.
Meet the Birds will be open to the public from 1:45 to 3 p.m. Several different stations will be located throughout the arena, where fans can interact with the players and coaches. Fans will get the chance to learn how to serve, hit, set and pass. Photo opportunities will also be available at the Be a Bird station.
Redbird head coach Sharon Dingman and her players and staff look forward to seeing the fans.
Our fans will have an opportunity to do what our players enjoy doing best: play volleyball on the Redbird Arena floor, said Dingman. The fans enjoy meeting our players and our players, of course, always enjoy meeting with the fans. Then, theyll get a chance to see what our team looks like six days before we play Illinois (season opener, 7 p.m., Aug. 30) at Redbird Arena.
This is a fans chance to make the plays, meet the team and check out the action at Redbird Arena. The doors will open at 1:45 p.m.
Then, stick around for the Red/White Scrimmage at 3:30 p.m. The squad will be broken up into two teams and they will scrimmage.
