Most college basketball players love the game so much they will get ready to play any time. Well, with starting times ranging from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.--and nearly every hour in-between--coach Robin Pingetons first Illinois State womens basketball team will get a chance to show that love.
The Redbirds have finalized times for their 27 regular-season games and two exhibitions, starting with the 2:05 p.m. Nov. 9 exhibition with Truman State. The regular season begins at 7:05 p.m. Nov. 26 against the Air Force Academy. The Birds play 14 regular-season home games, 12 on the road and one at a neutral site -- Illinois State meets Illinois at 11 a.m. Dec. 6 at the United Center in Chicago.
The Valley season begins at 7:05 p.m. Jan. 2 in Redbird Arena against Northern Iowa. Two days later, the Redbirds meet Bradley at 2:05 p.m. in a game which will be telecast on the Missouri Valley Conferences TV network, which includes Fox Sports.
The schedule includes two exceptions to the Redbird womens basketball tradition of playing weekend games at 2:05 p.m. and week night games at 7:05 p.m. The Jan. 18 game with Southern Illinois has a special 4:05 p.m. start and the Feb. 26 game with SMS begins at 8:05 p.m.
