With the first practice only five weeks away, head coach Porter Moser and the Illinois State mens basketball team now has a finalized schedule to begin preparing for.
The Redbirds will open the 2003-04 campaign with a pair of exhibition games. ISU will face EA Sports on Nov. 10 and Global Sports six days later on Nov. 16 for a season tune-up.
The season officially begins on Nov. 23, when the Redbirds open the season at home against Florida A&M. Tip-off is slated for 2:05 p.m. The Rattlers are one of five non-conference home dates, highlighted by the ESPN Bracket Buster II event on February 21.
In addition to Florida A&M, the Redbirds have three more day games scheduled at Redbird Arena. As part of the Missouri Valley Conference television package, the Birds will host Northern Iowa on Dec. 20 at 12:05 p.m. and SMS on Jan. 18 at 1:05 p.m. Illinois State also hosts Indiana State on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2:05 p.m.
Seven of eight Redbird non-conference games take place within the state of Illinois. Those away from Redbird Arena include Northern Illinois (Nov. 26), Illinois-Chicago (Dec. 13) and Illinois (Jan. 3). The Birds and the Flames will tip-off at 3:05 p.m., while ISU and the Fighting Illini will begin at 2:05 p.m.
