As winter approaches and the temperatures start to cool off, the Redbird baseball coaching staff will stay busy, as head coach Jim Brownlee and his staff have released their schedule for their upcoming winter clinics.
The first of two hitting clinics begins on Sunday, October 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Horton Field House. Session one includes the dates October 19 and 26, and November 2,9,16 and 23. Session two dates are January 11, and 18, and February 2 and 9. All clinic sessions will run from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Horton Field House. Each session will include instruction, as well as hitting games. Statistics and standings will be recorded during the games, so participants will be able to track their progress throughout the clinic. The registration deadline for session one is October 16, and January 8 for session two. Cost for session one is $120 and cost for session two is $80. Participants can register for both for the price of $200.
The pitching clinic will take place on January 25 from 1:30 - 6:00 p.m at Horton Field House. This clinic is available to all high school aged players, and will be geared towards what it takes to be successful at the high school and collegiate levels. The registration deadline is January 21 and the cost is $50.
The first one day clinic will take place on Monday, December 22 and will focus on the offensive and defensive aspects of the game. Anyone between the ages of 6-14 are encouraged to attend, and the cost is $90.
The pitching and catching clinic will take place on Tuesday, December 23. This one day clinic will stress the basic mechanics and fundamentals of pitching and catching. Anyone between the ages of 6-14 are encouraged to attend, and the cost is $90.
Participants of all camps will be individually evaluated by the Illinois State University baseball staff. All participants will receive a camp t-shirt.
