Junior diver Krystal Featherston earned recognition from the Missouri Valley Conference as Valley Diver of the Week for her efforts at Illinois States dual meet against Illinois-Chicago January 16. This is Featherstons third weekly honor of the season.
Featherston placed first in the one-meter and three-meter diving events, to contribute to the Redbirds victory over the Flames. She scored 254.99 in the one-meter, just one-hundredth of a second from qualifying for the NCAA Zones, and 256.80 in the three-meter. Featherstons three-meter score is currently the third highest in the Valley, while she also owns the best spot with a 264.30 set in October.
Featherston and the rest of the Redbird divers compete Friday and Saturday in the Bill Ritter Invitational. The diving event will be held on the campus of Illinois-Chicago, with preliminary action slated to begin at 11 a.m.
