Ledford Named Director of Marketing

Illinois State Associate Athletics Director Leanna Bordner announced Friday that Brad Ledford has been hired as Director of Marketing. Ledford will begin his duties on November 1. Ledford is looking forward to being a part of Illinois State Athletics. Im really excited about the opportunity to come to Illinois State and be a part of its distinguished athletics program, Ledford said. I look forward to working with the staff, the fans and the Bloomington-Normal community. Ledford, who received both a bachelors and masters degree in physical education from Eastern Kentucky University, most recently was the Athletics Marketing and Promotions Coordinator at his alma mater. Brad has good experience with new athletic marketing initiatives, Bordner said. His creativity, leadership, enthusiasm and passion will provide our department with the opportunity to expand our marketing efforts. As the Marketing and Promotions Coordinator, Ledford helped develop and implement the athletic departments marketing plan, assisted with the renewal and solicitation of corporate sponsorships, created the booster club newsletter other promotional materials and assisted with game promotions and special events. He was also responsible for overseeing the marketing departments intern program. Additionally, Ledford served as the athletics department representative on the universitys committee for Family Weekend and New Student Days. Prior to serving as the Marketing and Promotions Coordinator, Ledford worked as a Marketing/Fund Raising Intern in the athletics department and was a graduate assistant in the Teaching and Physical Education Department. He also did a sports management internship with the Nashville Sounds professional baseball team in 2000.
