Catherine Graham and Erin Keeney will not be in uniform for some games early in the season for Illinois State womens basketball.
Graham, a sophomore guard, will not participate in games for the Redbirds until the Dec. 1 home opener with Ball State. Keeney, a senior forward, will miss the two exhibition games and the season opener Nov. 12 at Notre Dame.
Illinois State head coach Robin Pingeton said that the action was her decision and made because of team issues. She anticipates that Graham and Keeney, who are attending practice and participating in other team events, would be key members of the team in 2004-05.
Both of them are quality young ladies and we have every expectation that they will contribute to our team over the course of the season, said Pingeton. Their situations are being handled internally and we are confident things will work out for the best in the long term.
The Redbirds play their first exhibition game at 2:05 p.m. Sunday against Odyssey.
