After a tie for fourth place at the Shootout at the Legends, Illinois State senior Kaila Fuller was named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week.
This is Fullers first time receiving the honor. She now joins teammates Katie Laehn, Samantha Richdale, Hilary Anderson and Ashlee Johnson.
Head coach
Ray Kralis is pleased with Fuller being honored.
Kaila really stepped it up for this tournament, she put three great rounds together, said Kralis. She played very consistent, and I am happy to see her hard work rewarded.
Fuller finished the three-round tournament with 76, 75, 75 for a total of 226, leaving her in a tie for fourth place. Her finish helped lead the team to a tie for fourth with Kent State, finishing just behind Norte Dame, Michigan and Campbell.
Fuller and the Redbirds return to action on Monday, Oct. 11, at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational.
